Tuscan Diaries Experience
Step into our countryside, our life and a seat at our Tuscan table
It’s been years in the making, but at last we are ready to invite you to spend a week living our Tuscany.
We first dreamed of hosting something like this on the Amalfi Coast over four years ago. But with the rising tourism and endless steps of Positano, it became too complicated, too impersonal. So we waited.
Now, after two years of exploring and settling into this corner of Tuscany, we are ready to open our lives to you. This is not a typical retreat. It’s an invitation to step into our world, to share in the rhythm of our days, and to experience Tuscany as we do.
We’ve designed the week around a very special day: the second Sunday of every month, when the Vicopisano Antiques Market comes alive. Together, we’ll wander the stalls, meet local friends, and hunt for treasures. We’ll share lunch in a favourite trattoria, before strolling through the town’s medieval lanes and charming piazzas.
The rest of the week flows with a balance of relaxation, discovery, and connection. Experiences include:
Wine tasting and a long lunch at a family-run winery
Truffle hunting in the woodland valleys nearby
Excursions to San Gimignano, Volterra, and the chance to visit Florence or Pisa
Dinners under the olive trees and a hands-on pasta-making class
Optional countryside walks with our dogs, Holly and Indie
Visits to local second-hand markets and gelato in sunlit piazzas
Time to simply rest, swim, and soak up the Tuscan countryside
Your home for the week is Podere dell’Alloro, a lovingly restored Tuscan farmhouse surrounded by olive groves and rolling hills. Once a crumbling ruin, it has been transformed into a beautiful guesthouse with fully equipped apartments. Each meal here will be lovingly prepared by our hosts, whose cooking celebrates the simple, seasonal flavours of Tuscany.
This week is an opportunity to step away from everyday life and step into ours. To share long tables and laughter, sunsets and stories. To discover the beauty of this part of Tuscany — the far-reaching views, the silver-green olive groves, and the food that brings people together.
We hope you’ll leave not only with memories, but with new friendships, and a deeper sense of what it means to truly live Tuscany.
